I've always been a compulsive maker. While I've worked with lots of media over the years, and continue to love drawing, I return clay for its tactile bliss and endless design possibilities. After years working as an arts administrator, I started Two Crow Studio with my husband Rick Hartwig, and now work full-time in our home studio, focusing mainly on functional pieces in stoneware and porcelain.

Designs are mostly painted by hand, without stencils or screens. While this is time-consuming, I like the individual character it gives each piece. Engobe areas are frequently left unglazed because I like the contrast in texture it offers to the smoothness of glazed areas. Pieces are fired to cone 6 in electric kilns, then sanded for smoothness for maximum tactile pleasure!
